Mykola Guk, MD, PhD, Professor, is a chief of the Endonasal Skull Base Neurosurgery Dept. of the Romodanov Neurosurgery Institute, National Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine. He is a leading specialist in endoscopic neurosurgery, skull base surgery, neuroendocrine diseases, and orphan neurosurgical pathology. In Ukraine, he is considered one of the founders of the field of endonasal endoscopic neurosurgery and pediatric transsphenoidal neurosurgery. 

Member of the Ukrainian Association of Neurosurgeons, the European Neuroendocrine Association (ENEA), the European Association of Neurosurgical Societies (EANS), and, since 2018 - chairman of the "Ukrainian Association of Pituitary Pathology, Neuroendocrinology and Skull Base Surgery" (Ukrainian Pituitary & Skull Base Society). Member of Skull Base Committee of EANS.

Mykola Guk has supervised and organized multiple international conferences on pituitary and skull base pathology, including: “Modern Aspects of Pituitary Tumor Treatment” (Kyiv, 2013), “Modern Aspects of Pituitary Surgery” (Kyiv, 2015), the “Ukrainian-American Meeting of Neurosurgeons and Otorhinolaryngologists” (Kyiv, 2017), “Posterior Fossa Surgery Meeting” (Kyiv, 2019), and “Pituitary Pathology. Multidisciplinary Approach” (Kyiv, 2021), among others.

He has experience in more than 2,500 surgeries on pituitary and skull base tumors, continues to develop new areas in endoscopic neurosurgery, and is an advocate for teamwork, a balanced multidisciplinary approach in the treatment of neuro-oncological diseases, and adherence to modern international protocols and evidence-based medicine guidelines.
